Natural Resources Management Unit
The Radio Flyers visited with Lisa Ransom and her knowledgeable staff on July 22nd at Grow Compost of VT, which is located on Route 2 in Moretown. The students asked mindful questions with regards to the process of composting and connected to their prior class room learning. The trip was planned as an integrated activity from our Summer Program, Natural Resources Management Unit, which will continue through the 1st trimester of the new school year.
The Radio Flyers were also paid several informational visits this summer by Chrissy Bellmyer from the Central VT Solid Waste Management District. Chrissy engaged the students with firsthand knowledge about the 4R’s of Reducing, Recycling, Reusing and Rotting (composting), through multiple hands-on learning activities. The students also created unique crafts from all recycled materials!
