Summer Olympics

This Summer Session at The New School of Montpelier saw both the Bridge and Transition Pod students participate in a diversity of “Summer Olympics” themed activities featured in our “Go Team Go” unit. Physical activities included: group warm-up movements, distance soccer ball kick, 100M shuttle run/walk with bean bag toss, thera-band stretch, accuracy disc throw (Kan Jam), distance softball throw, pool noodle javelin throw and water balloon toss. The students also made their own student-designed team shirts as well as several delectable edibles such as Olympic pretzel rings, energy trail mix and more! The Go Team Go unit activities culminated with a fun trip to the Barre City Elementary and Middle School for a day of friendly competition, great food and convivial camaraderie. All participants were awarded gold medals and a special “Olympic torch” dessert for their heroic efforts.
