Every student's day looks different because every student's needs are different. What remains constant is the level of support and understanding they receive. Our team works together closely, sharing insights and adjusting approaches based on what is best for each student in the moment.
Supporting Growth, Every Step of the Way
Every student's learning journey starts with thoughtful planning. Working within Vermont's Proficiency Based Graduation Requirements, our team develops clear goals for each student's growth. This careful planning ensures that learning is purposeful and personalized, tailored to the strengths and interests of each individual. We focus on how our students learn best, whether that's through visual aids, hands-on activities, or other approaches that match their unique learning style.
Our team of occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, teachers, and support staff collaborate to coordinate every aspect of a student's development. This comprehensive planning happens annually, before IEP development, making instruction both targeted and effective. Social stories help prepare students for new experiences, while careful observation helps us understand when to encourage new challenges and when to provide comfort in familiar routines.
Progress looks different for everyone; some days are for pushing forward, while others are for building confidence through familiar activities. Throughout it all, we respect each person's way of communicating their needs and comfort levels. This responsive approach extends into community experiences, where students connect with their world at their own pace and in ways that feel meaningful to them. Whether it's a medical appointment, a new activity, or a community outing, our comprehensive support helps transform potentially overwhelming experiences into manageable and rewarding steps forward.
