Our Fundraising Effort
Alumni Hall is a historic community event space that has hosted the winter's farmer's market, central Vermont proms, weddings, retirement parties, Halloween events, police trainings, art shows, students events and more.
The roof of Alumni Hall is likely to fail at any time with high winds plowing off shingles and allowing rain to enter through the cupola.
In 2025 we began a major restoration and stabilization project of Bishop including asbestos abatement, roof replacement, new electrical service, water service, sprinklers, ventilation and the creation of an additional floor of classroom space. Unexpectedly, as renovations began we learned that the original stream system needed complete replacement.
Support Expanded Classrooms and Community Events!
Our goal is to increase capacity to support students with intensive needs by creating a second floor of classroom space and to keep the Alumni Hall auditorium available for community events. We are seeking fundraising to replace Bishop's heating system ($500,000) and Alumni's roof ($250,000). For the future we are exploring projects to include housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities on the upper floors of Bishop and replacing Alumni's heating system.
